    1. This is another P&P skewed universe book from Perpetua Langley. I am truly conflicted between 4 stars and 5 stars. Maybe writing my review will help my confusion. We begin at the beginning - Netherfield Park is let at last. Mr. Bingley has sent ahead his sister; yes SISTER singular and her companion Mrs. Younge (YES THAT MRS. YOUNGE) and her friend Mayria Hoppenstack. When the Bennet ladies pay a call Miss Bingley is most unimpressed with all except Jane and perhaps Lizzy. As the town awaits [...]

    2. 4.5 rounded up to 5 starsThis author's definitely got the goods. She puts together a story where all the parts fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Not like a mystery, but like a whole bunch of pieces that look like a jumble at first until the pieces all snap together and make one big cohesive picture. What makes me love her even more is the lovely sense of the ridiculous she always manages to bring into these books. There's enough Pride and Prejudice to satisfy the JAFF-lover in me, but there's e [...]

    3. In this Pride and Prejudice variation, more so than in most, not everyone is as they seem. Elizabeth and Darcy meet before the assembly, Caroline brings a friend to Netherfield instead of her sister, Mary is in control of her life and knows what she wants, Lydia has more than a frivolous thought in her head, etc. There is also an extra character, Mr Mackay, who is a cousin of Darcy's from Scotland who LOVES to tell stories. This story has enough of the original, plus a lot of extra fun. The plot [...]

    4. Well written. End of story.Waiting for updates of stories you follow? This will fill the time. Darcy is filled with trepidation (gutless). Elizabeth is beyond stubborn and obnoxiously immature (bit-shee).There is no touchy-feely here, hardly any romance. The best character here, believe it or not, is Lydia. She provides the much needed levity and a link to canon.

    5. In this variation we see the introduction of a few other characters which mix things up a bit but for me, I didn't really enjoy this one a great deal. Darcy is a quiet, worried sort and Elizabeth is quite self assured and stubborn. I didn't like her very much. I struggled to see how the two of them would come to have any regard for each other. In particular, Darcy tells Elizabeth about the emotional abuse he suffered as a child where he would be ignored by his father when he made mistakes. In ma [...]

    6. A variation it certainly isLizzy has none of the kind, sweet features we are used to. Darcy does not have the brooding longing either. I didn't understand their attraction to each other at all. This was not a romantic story.

    7. DelightfulIt was a great deal of humor in this book which is something that I really always appreciate . And it was nice to see the development of new characters and the improvement of old ones

    8. Skipped most of itFar, far too little of interest in a quite long re-tellingđŸ™„. Without spoiling the plot, the twists are few, far between, and usual.
