    1. Thank you NetGalley & Penguin Group Berkley Publishing Group and New American Library for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Mainly, I didn't know this is the second book in a series. The good thing is, it can be read as a standalone. Well sort of because I'm a bit lost at some parts but there are a few mentioned here about what happened on the previous book. The story started on Michelle Alger's past when she was kidnapped and tortured in Colombia by a drug cartel. She was b [...]

    2. **FULL REVIEW**"A pair of dark eyes filled her mind. Rage, sadness, compassion, respect. All those emotions had fitted through his irises as he rescued her from Hell. Captain Jeremy Malone, Green Beret. Hero. She didn't remember much about the actual rescue, but she'd never forget his eyes or his voice. They spoke to her soul. Her feelings for that man went way beyond gratitude, though she had that in spades. It was like she had finally found the other half of herself she hadn't realized was mis [...]

    3. My Review:I adored the first book in this SBG series, about a group of private military contractors, so I had very high hopes for this one. Overall, it did not disappoint. The book starts six years prior to present day when Jeremy was an active duty Green Beret doing a cartel raid in Colombia. In the course of the mission, he rescued Michelle, who had been with the cartel for over a day the time they got to her, she was not in good condition anymore. That single mission changed their lives in mo [...]

    4. This review was originally posted on Delighted ReaderThe DelightWe get to Cappy's story! He's the leader of the group so I had a hard time wrapping my head around him falling in love. Loyal and quiet, I just had a hard time picturing him in love. Throw in a heroine who has gone through Hell, but never forgot the man who saved her. She's the rock that holds them together. The son of the Senator turns up dead and a video of his last moments turns up, everyone is on the hunt for Michelle Alger. On [...]

    5. Hero worship or rescue complex? Oh no, their relationship so much more than that. Cappy and Michelle had an instant connection from the first time they met. It wasn’t the best of circumstance, but it was obvious that the connection was strong. To prove, even after six years had passed, their feelings are still there. It was palpable, mutual and cannot be denied. After Captain Jeremy Malone aka Cappy and his team rescued Michelle Alger from a Cartels, they had gone their separate ways trying to [...]

    6. SHADOW OF DOUBT is full on romantic suspense goodness! The way that Michelle’s battle with PTSD and trying to survive her past while facing her present danger is so well done. I really appreciated how realistically she reacted to the situations that she found herself in. DePaul didn't use over the top crazy scenarios or reactions to get her trauma across to the readers. Michelle's actions were what I would expect from a traumatized but otherwise "normal" woman who just happens to be facing mur [...]

    7. Captain Jeremy Malone rescued Michelle Alger from a drug cartel in Colombia and promised to be there if she ever called. But then things went horribly wrong and his team got in the way of a car bomb. Jeremy was the only survivor but ended up working undercover as part of a black ops team.Michelle has been dealing with the aftereffects of her torture and abuse as a person in the witness protection program. She has never forgotten the man she called "Cappy." When she finds herself in trouble again [...]

    8. *I received an early copy of this book for review. *Shadow of Doubt is an excellent addition to the SBG series. I liked that this story took us on a different sort of ride than book one. Shadow of Doubt kicks off with our first glimpse of Michelle and Jeremy's initial meeting which leaves us wanting more. Unfortunately, when they meet up again, its not because of anything good or fun, instead its the start of a mystery and both Michelle and Jeremy are struggling to find trust between each other. [...]

    9. Bullets and sexy romance. What more do you want in a book? P.A. DePaul does it again. In the sequel to Exchange of Fire, she continues to follow the SweetBriar Group and their clandestine missions. This time, it’s tracking down a killer who may or may not be a girl Cappy rescued from a drug cartel many years ago. They’re also battling their old nemesis who manages to wield influence from inside a jail cell. To complicate matters they’re being hunted. This book has enough action to keep the [...]

    10. Originally posted on I Smell Sheep* I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Michelle Alger has endured enough hell on earth to make a grown man beg for mercy. Six years ago she was tortured by a Colombian cartel and while she was rescued, she has never been able to overcome the trauma, or forget the man who saved her. Now she’s wanted for the murder of a senator’s son and has no choice but to run. Not knowing who to trust she turns to the man who saved her life hoping [...]

    11. A few pages into this book and my first thought was: "who goes to a South American country and wanders the rain-forest without armed military escort?" I wouldn't! And if I had to, I'd have to have an exceptional reason and a battalion of troops along with me as well as some air support! Unfortunately for our heroine, her decision to explore the Colombian rain-forest leads to the most horrific experience of her life. Michelle Alger was an exchange student on a trip to Colombia when she was captur [...]

    12. 4 to 4.5 starsOh I loved this book so much more than Exchange of Fire! Cappy intrigued me in book 1 and I was excited to find out more about him.Shadow of Doubt brings us the history of former Green Beret Captain Jeremy Malone starting with a joint op in Colombia 6 years ago to take out a major cartel that also resulted in the rescue of a kidnapped American college student. That student was none other than Michelle Alger who has just reappeared in Cappy's life in the most unexpected way. Since t [...]

    13. Since this is only book two then I have high hopes for the remainder of the series.Shadow of Doubt is a ride that will push and pull you along with it as it runs amok across your kindle or as the pages flip through your fingers. It was a smart move on the author’s part to switch things up from the scenarios that we encountered in book one, it ensured that Shadow of Doubt had its own pace and it held true to what it has to say. This is not just a story of romance and relationship it has a tougher [...]

    14. This is the second book in the series, I was lucky enough to have read both on Netgally, each book can be read as a standalone but much better if you read them in order. I have loved the first book and the author didn’t let me down with this book. It is a wonderful outstanding series that I totally love. As is with Ms. Depaul’s style it starts off with a bang and keeps on throughout the book why it keeps you on the edge holding your breath waiting for the next shoe to drop. She brings back s [...]

    16. Do you like books packed with action, intrigue, mystery? How about ones with great characters and romance? How about a book you can completely lose yourself in? Then Shadow of Doubt, the second book in the SCG series by P.A. DePaul is a book you’ll want to read. I missed out on the first book and in a series, sometimes that can spell disaster. Not a chance here! I get that most of the characters have shared history (Probably from the first book) but the author has presented it in a way that I [...]

    17. Leigh's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book ReviewsI will say it up front…I like my books with a lot of sex in them. The fact that the relationship between the hero and heroine was mostly foreplay until nearly the end of the book is the only negative comment I can make here, because the lack of action in the bedroom was more than made up for by the edge of your seat drama that Jeremy and Michelle found themselves in while they tried to prove Michelle’s innocence in a murder investigation [...]

    18. photo my thoughts_zpsfejxs2wfg I liked this book but not all aspects. I like Cappy and his loyalty and his treatment of woman. Michelle for him was it and he felt strong towards her but I didn’t like his conflict over her. It was too much at times. He kept having to fight himself and her and it just was hard to watch. Talon loved him he had a dry wit. I didn’t like Wraith and her timing to want to talk to him. I like the storyline and how it all intertwined together and helped forward the pl [...]

    19. I was introduced to this author and series by Anna over at Herding Cat & Burning Soup. She had such good things to say about it, that I had to check out the first book in the series myself. I really enjoy strong female characters and one who is a sniper seemed a good fit. I liked the book, and was excited to see book 2 come available on Netgalley. This book picks up shortly after the end of Exchange of Fire. This time are heroine is from the civilian world and the hero is Cappy, head of Delta [...]

    20. P.A. DePaul dazzles me again in the second installment of her SBG series! I’m so glad we’re back with the Delta Squad as they are tasked with finding a murder suspect for a senator’s son. When the suspect turns out to be a woman from Cappy’s past, he immediately starts looking for her. The woman he saved years ago could not be a cold-blooded killer…could she? What starts out as a murder investigation turns into a multi-faceted enigma that challenges all of Cappy’s beliefs in the woma [...]

    21. **Book provided by the author for an honest review**This romantic suspense was amazing! The story takes place six years in the past with "Cappy" Captain Jeremy Malone and his team of merrimen on a rescue mission of a young woman by the name of Michelle Alger who was kidnapped by a drug cartel. The moment Cappy laid eyes on Michelle he was love struck. He felt this undeniable desire to scoop her up in his arms and nurse her back to health himself and never let her out of his sight! But life and w [...]

    22. I really liked this story. It isn’t the typical contemporary suspense romance novel. The adventure takes centre stage in this story. There are a lot of characters to learn as there is a whole team consistently present in the story. One thing I kind of found confusing was that the characters are referred to by their first names, last names and also their code names. I just found it hard to keep up at times. However, I had no trouble following the explosive plot.Cappy rescued Michelle from the h [...]

    23. Shadow Of Doubt is book 2 in P.A. DePaul's SBG series. I loved the first one and was seriously looking forward to this one. I expected it to be just as good, maybe a little better than Exchange of Fire (book 1) but it knocked it out of the water! This book blew me away! The setting, plot, and characters are all unique. Shadow Of Doubt can be enjoyed as a standalone novel, but readingExchange of Fire will enhance your reading enjoyment. You will get a better sense of camaraderie between the group [...]

    24. If you are looking for a fast paced and thrilling romantic suspense try out the SBG series by P. A. DePaul. The latest release, Shadow of Doubt, will keep you on the edge of your seat furiously turning the pages. After Captain Jeremy Malone (aka Cappy) and his team rescued Michelle Alger from the Cartel, life should of been good after they went their separate ways. Cappy’s team experienced a great loss in the operation and Michelle walked away with internal scars that will last a lifetime. Thei [...]

    25. I was offered an ARC of Shadow of Doubt and after reading the blurb I decided to give it a go. I went into the book not realising that it wasn't the continuation of a series (yeah, you would think SBG #2 in the title would be a bit of a clue, eh?!) but that didn't detract from the story! It was a good read, thought I must admit that at times I found it a tad slow going and Michelle, the lead female, did my head in slightly - I know that she had suffered through a terrible experience and was suffe [...]

    26. This is the story of Jeremy Malone or Cappy, as everyone knows him and Michelle Alger, a woman he rescued when he was in the army six years ago. Even though she had been beaten and tortured, when they first locked eyes as he picked her up, they both felt the connection they had. After he loaded her on the rescue helicopter he wrote his name and phone number on a piece of paper, put it in her hand, kissed her in the spot behind her ear and told her if she ever needed him to call and he'd be there [...]

    27. Michelle is on the run after she is caught on video leaving the room of the Senator's son who is found brutally murdered. She turns to her hero Cappy who rescued her after she was abducted during college. When Michelle calls Captain Jeremy Malone (Cappy) he shows up to save her again, after all she has haunted his dreams and thoughts after he rescued her Colombian cartel.Ms. DePaul did a great job of creating a range of characters for this book. They are diverse, dangerous, and intriguing. You h [...]

    28. I was lucky enough to get an ARC but that does not colour my review in any way.★★★★★SGB #2This is the 2nd book in the series, you "could" read it as a stand alone, but to understand the dynamic of the team it's best to read book #1Exchange of Fire (An SBG Novel) first.Michelle Alger is a survivor. Six years ago, as an exchange student to an university in Colombia, she was captured and tortured by the drug cartel. Now in witness protection and suffering from extreme PTSD , she finds her [...]
