    1. Since I read this to my daughter I allowed her to rate it. She wanted to give it "one hundred and thousand" stars but settled on just 5 when I told her that was the highest number she could rate it.

    2. Yes, this is a book based on a television show. Yes, it is a television show based on a toy line. Yes, I bought this book with my own money, and yes, I purchased this it from the evil entity known as . According to educational experts and literary activists everywhere, I’ve committed four hideous sins against the printed word, no, against civilized society itself. These types of books are trash, cobbled together by underpaid ghostwriters, churned out by the dozens to rake in money for the toy [...]

    3. I am 27 years old and i am a Brony/Pegasister. And I'm proud of it. Therefore when i heard they were releasing books based on the series i just had to get them. Especially since there isn't going to be any new episodes till next winter.Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell is the first book in the new chapter series. I was pleasantly surprised that it reads just like an episode of the show. Despite what the cover shows the book picks up right after Twilight's princess coronation. The new [...]

    4. This was sappy. I have read the comics and watched the movie and loved them both. But this book? It has so many problems a list is required!Flaws1. Gilda was poorly written. Just horrible!2. Trixie reverted into a jerk despite her "redemption"3. Cadences ascension story only made things more confusing.4. Lesson was poorly thought out5. Distances between locations were ignored6. You can almost smell the selling out.7. Confusing lines like "Twilight's cottage"8. That retarded "Trixie is ripping yo [...]

    5. I have to admit to have been kind of excited about reading this, based on the things I had read about it online. I am a Brony and proud, and it was exciting to think that the story of 'My Little Pony' was being expanded on in the books and the comics.Sadly, I have to admit to have being disappointed. I tried to keep in mind the target audience of this book, and that I am quite outside of it, and while some reviews I have read say this reads like an episode of the show, I have to disagree (since [...]

    6. Cute, a good idea for an episode, but as a book it could have used some more descriptions. I liked the backstory for Princess Cadance, but it to could've used some major additions. This one gets only 2 stars because Twilight Sparkle is my most favorite character from the show, and this book does not do her justice. now, here are a few reasons why this annoyed me more than the others.1. It needed editing. "Twilight's Cottage"? I mean, really, how did they not catch that? Twilight lives in the Pon [...]

    7. I read this to my 7 year old daughter. It's her first chapter book series and she actually reads them all on her own, but I promised to read one of them to her. The book is okay, but doesn't really know its audience. At least, in my opinion, this franchise is really targeted for girls under age 10, but the vocabulary in this book might challenge some of the readers that young. Good thing that it entices kids to read, though. And it's not a bad thing to include some tougher words to help the read [...]

    8. Now, I have to provide some degree of context for my particularly harsh scoring of this book! This book (and I am sure this will explain *everything*) is another in a series of books that I am reading with my youngest daughter, who is currently six. She, as it happens, *loves* My Little Pony and she has also, in recent months, discovering a flare for the enjoyment of reading, so, of course, I will help her read whatever the heck she wants to read.If Ffion were to be scoring this book, I'm sure she [...]

    9. This was our second foray into My Little Pony books after we accidentally read My Little Pony: Discord and the Ponyville Players Dramarama first (I think it's meant to be the last of the series). It was atrocious. I read these keeping in mind that they're based on a T.V. show, but I've seen that T.V. show and it's not terrible. It's the usual "let's learn a moral lesson whilst watching a cartoon, yayyyy!" kinda deal (and some of the comic books are quite funny), but this book was just trash. The [...]

    10. I really think it's a fun book, and I think I felt like I learned something the first time I read it, I read it like about five times, it's still really great! Though there are like, some chapters are well, I don't know, like, just fine while other chapters that I think are better. When I first was done reading it, went I felt I learned something, that something was to not just like thing that are pretty, because then like, in the meeting when Rarity wants to tell Twilight, she made Rarity sad.

    11. Twilight Sparkle is now a princess, but she has no idea what that entails or how she should act. In desperate need of guidance, she turns to Princess Cadance. Twilight is told of the Crystal Heart spell, and how it helped Cadance to become the leader she was meant to be. Eager for the spell, Twilight is told she must find it in her own way. But on this quest, she begins to lose sight of who she is. Can her friends help her to remember?Whoever wrote this book has seen the show, and seems to be a [...]

    12. i love you, princess twily all 3 version anime girl japan pony & girl of fantasy land for anime girl japan i love your purple painted nails

    13. My second book I got me and my sister buy it together I found it easy to read and I have dyslexia and have help with words sometimes but as soon I started reading this book I never needing help reading it

    14. Clearly picking up from the end of the most recent season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell focuses on Twilight Sparkle trying to adapt to being a princess. Berrow includes background on some secondary characters and expands on the current My Little Pony world as a whole. The only thing that could be better would be the addition of some actual illustrations (which would fit developmentally for the chapter book level this is at). There's a pictur [...]

    15. Just as cute as an episode of the show. Written as easy to read so little readers won't have much trouble. Dense enough storytelling that a parent reading it a little bit before bed would not have hours of reading ahead of them. The newly coronated Princess Twilight is still a little uncertain and uncomfortable about her new role and what she is supposed to do. So she seeks out Cadence for advice. We get a little of Cadance's back story before Twilight gets advice. There's a Crystal Heart spell [...]

    16. My 4yo enjoys My Little Pony and thoroughly enjoyed this book being read to her - we do a chapter per day until it's finished and we look for words on the pages The activity pages at the back of the book went down a treat - we worked on them together, and she's up for collecting all the cardboard pop-outs as the books are published. Although I think the writing is a little bland and the events wrap up far too quickly in the last chapter, the story sparked her interest, we had Gilda the Griffin a [...]

    17. I had already read the Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle books in this series and loved them. This is book 1 in the series and I think it was my least favorite so far? Maybe it's because I had already seen the first episode of Season 4, which covers similar territory with Twilight coming to terms with the changes that happened in the finale of Season 3. Still, entertaining and fun. Berrow really has a knack for capturing the voice of each pony and beginner chapter book readers who are fans of th [...]

    18. Oh look a My Little Pony chapter book. Reads like an episode, which is what I was expecting. It's full of puns and friendship and all the obvious twists and turns you expect a children's book based on a children's show based on a children's toy to have. The ponies stayed true to character, which is what I was looking for really, because I know that's the biggest problems with books like this.A quick read for children, if I come across the others I'll read them, but I won't buy them or actively l [...]

    19. The story seemed to run around a lot; I was practically breathless from the exertion required to read of Twily's search for an answer. I laughed at Rarity suggesting, "We'd better go find Spike… He'll know what to do." I love it when Spike unintentionally (?) becomes the Dumbledore of the MLP:FiM mythos: the one who is in possession of great knowledge, or very much bereft of the wisdom others need. Well, like Berrow's other Pony books, it was a fun read, and all the characters are strong enoug [...]

    20. After hearing Gillian speak at a convention, I really wanted to like her. She seems like a very likable person. But her writingdidn't quite hit the spot for me here. I realize that she's writing for children, but she's also very aware of her adult demographic too. I'll read the other Mane six books, and Daring Do, only because I really love MLPI'm not holding a lot of promise for them though, after reading this. It does make me insanely curious about who she ghost wrote for though --so I can com [...]

    21. Cute little read for children. Definitely recommended for kids who enjoy the show. I think parents would have fun reading it to their kids (there are a lot of puns for parents to pick up on).I'm not sure what the recommended age for this book is, I only saw a sticker that said "Young Reader." on it. However, I think that this book would be good for parents to read to their kids before bed, and could be one of those first chapter books that a kid reads on their own.

    22. Twilight and the Crystal Heart Spell is and in between season book about Twilight Sparkle a gusting to her alicorn life. Her sister-in-law is all ears to help Twi in her situation, telling her how she adjusted.Thought this is not the best read. It provided the so much background information about Cadence and Twilight and help me wait until Season 4. I would recommend it to any Brony or Pegasister. (Plus it includes DERPY HOOVES!!!!)
